Netanyahu says "assassination" of Hamas leaders will bring peace to Israel

Another funeral in Gaza....this time for three senior Hamas military commanders killed in Israeli air strikes.

The Islamist movement says that all three had led operations against Israel for more than 20 years.

And Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says their deaths will prevent future attacks.

(SOUNDBITE) (Hebrew) ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, SAYING:

"The assassination last night joins other assassinations that we are doing against other planned deadly attacks of Hamas and other terrorist organizations."

Since Tuesday's ceasefire collapse, the Israeli military has ramped up its efforts to hit the leadership of Hamas' armed wing. And Netanyahu says it's not over yet.

(SOUNDBITE) (Hebrew) ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, SAYING:

"We will continue to work together to reach the targets, to restore peace and security for an extended period to the citizens of Israel."
