Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the country’ crisis will deepen if I (Nawaz) resign.
While addressing to senior journalists here on Thursday, Nawaz Sharif said no forces would be used to disperse participants of long marchers. He said that protests and sit-ins were hitting Pakistan’s economy.
Nawaz said that protests were democratic rights of opposition parties, but no unconstitutional demand, presented by the marchers, would be accepted.
The Prime Minister said the government was ready to launch dialogue and is still committed for it to defuse the crisis.
He said the country could not afford current situation as the crisis could harm the country.
He said all political parties except one representing in the national assembly had expressed confidence in his leadership. He said today all political forces were on the same page and the government wouldl fully respect the mandate of the people.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervez Rasheed said that the government had no plans of using force against the protesters.
Pakistan Muslim League (N) stalwart said that Prime Minister’s House does not even know that IG Police Islamabad had been transferred. He said that the government had not attacked the protesters as yet and it had no plans to attack them in future.
“Army is just doing its duty under the constitution of Pakistan and it will continue to do the same in future”, said Rasheed.
