More clashes in Ferguson ahead of U.S. Attorney General's visit

What started out as a mostly peaceful night of protests ended with clashes in Ferguson, Missouri.

Police in riot gear charged a crowd of demonstrators after objects were thrown at them.

By morning... nearly 50 people were arrested in the 11th night of racially charged protests over the killing of Michael Brown.

But the officer in charge of overseeing security in Ferguson says overall the situation is much better.

SOUNDBITE: MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL CAPTAIN RON JOHNSON, SAYING:

"No smoke bombs no tear gas was used by police. We did deploy very limited pepper spray."

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder plans to visit the St. Louis suburb on Wednesday to meet with the FBI and other officials.

A grand jury is also expected to begin a criminal inquiry into the shooting of the unarmed black teen by a white police officer.

This as protests continue for Brown who will be laid to rest next Monday.
