Deepika Padukone Hope's Mohini In Happy New Year Becomes Popular As Meenamma !

Deepika Padukone will be seen playing the character of Mohini in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy New Year.
Apart from the success of her film in general, Dippy hopes that her film breaks the record set by Chennai Express which also starred her and SRK in the leads. At the HNY trailer launch, Deepika said, “ I hope Mohini becomes as popular as Meenamma (her character from Chennai Express).
Dippy will be playing a Marathi mulgi in HNY unlike Meenamma who was a southern belle. Deepika is currently the most talented actor in the industry and we have no doubts that all her wishes regarding HNY’s success will be fulfilled.
Director Farah Khan who is also present at the launch has declared, “Deepika has become a superb actress.” The praise doesn’t come as surprising considering it was Farah who discovered this gem of an actor and launched her into Bollywood with Om Shanti Om!
