ZIARAT (Web Desk) - PM Nawaz Sharif inaugurated Quaid-e-Azam s residency at Ziarat in northwestern Balochistan, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
PM Nawaz was accompanied by Governor of Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achkzai, Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister vowed to bring prosperity in every part of the country. He said every citizen realizes that Pakistan is more peaceful now as compared to the past.
Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik and Pak Army deserve appreciation for restoration of peace in Balochistan, he added.
PM Nawaz said it is his heartfelt wish to see peaceful Sindh and Balochistan.
The historical residency, where Pakistan s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah spent his last days, was restored to its original shape after four months of reconstruction work that cost around 150 million rupees.
The residency will be opened for tourists and visitors very soon.
On 15 June 2013, the building was burnt to ground after militants belonging to Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) fired rockets and grenades at it.
The beautifully designed building in the scenic resort town was constructed in 1892, and served as the residence of the Governor General s agent in the region.
Quaid-e-Azam spent his last days while he was suffering from tuberculosis few months before his death in 1948.
