Lauren Bacall remembered

As news of the death of actress Lauren Bacall spread fans erected a memorial outside her Manhattan home.

The small tribute at the side entrance to The Dakota apartment building included a bouquet of flowers and six roses.

Bacall, the sultry actress with the husky voice who captured Humphrey Bogart's heart both on and off the screen, died on August 12 at the age of 89.

Near her home, people remembered the acting legend.
