Robin Williams' preliminary cause of death is asphyxia due to hanging - that's according to a rep for the Marin County coroner's office who spoke about the actor's death on Tuesday (August 12). Among the details revealed at a news conference was that Williams' body was discovered by a personal assistant on Monday (August 11) with a belt wrapped around his neck. The actor also had superficial cuts on his wrists and had sought treatment for depression in the time leading up to his death. Hollywood mourned the death of Williams on Monday, who was not only an A-list comedic actor, but also an acclaimed dramatic actor, having won an Oscar for his turn in 1997's "Good Will Hunting."
