One of the UK's most popular actors, Hugh Bonneville, came face-to-face with his new waxwork at Madame Tussauds in London on Tuesday (August 12).

The actor, who is best known for his portrayal of Downton Abbey's Lord Grantham, is portrayed looking as dapper as his aristocractic alter ego, in pristine black tie with sharp black tux and immaculately polished shoes.

The star was closely involved in the production of his figure.

SOUNDBITE, Hugh Bonneville, actor, saying (English):

"The process is so painstaking the measurements, all sorts of calipers and so on and different eyeballs that are presented to check they've got the right colouring and hair matches and skin tone,

"It'll lurk around for a little while and the great thing in this age of environmental sensitivity is that it can be melted down and used for somebody else in a few years' time."
