Steven Seagal sings for peace.

The American actor hit the stage in Crimea to sing a series of blues songs following a motorcycle rally in the Black Sea Port of Sevastopol.

Seagal, who calls himself a personal friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, says he hopes his performance will inspire unity.

SOUNDBITE: Steven Seagal, actor, saying (English):

"My greatest desire is to bring Russia and America together. It always has been. And music is the language of the gods. It's the one language that all people understand; it's the one language that brings all people together."

After the show, Seagal was presented with a designer T-shirt bearing the likeness of Putin in dark sunglasses.

The actor told reporters he grew up with Russian-speaking relatives, but unfortunately cannot speak the language.
