STORY: The soul power of James Brown hits the big screen in the new film "Get on Up."
The movie, which has been 20 years in the making, was co-produced by Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger, who said premiering the flick at the Apollo Theater in New York was a great feeling.
Jagger said producing the film revived many personal memories of Brown.
"He was always very generous with me and was very kind to me and he wasn't kind to everyone. But he was to me. So I really appreciate that. And I saw him many times over the years. And I always kind of studied him, the way he moved and the way he always gave his best. And the way he always changed up his style and stuff. So I appreciate all the things he does," revealed Jagger.
The late singer had many hits including "Please, Please, Please," "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag," "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" and "Living in America" but his musical influence outweighed his chart suc
