WORLD CUP 2014: GERMANY-BRAZIL INSPIRES THE WEB
The web is abuzz with commentary on the one sided match that saw Germany trounce Brazil, 7 goals to 1. A range of reactions, some are simply euphoric, others are despondent to say the least. 
The Tumblr blog “sadbrazilians” illustrates this woe … it’s a collection of shots of fans taken during the match and after the final whistle. We see the same heartache on Twitter, with web users posting under the “shame on you Brazil” hashtag, sharing their sorrow, and anger. 
German web users on the other hand have been voicing entirely different sentiments. With some well-known faces also taking to the net: Former model Heidi Klum for example, or ex-tennis champ Steffi Graff. And the players, well they opted for a post-match selfie, which has since been posted to Twitter and retweeted over 2,000 times. 
And the match has also inspired all manner of photomontages and parodies, which are doing the rounds on social networks. Creations that mock Brazil`s disastrous performance, like this picture that shows the Brazilian flag as a goal full of balls, or this one where there the German chancellor stands in the place of the famous Christ the Redeemer statue.
