Dunya News - Minhajul Quran files petition naming PM, CM Punjab among others over Model Town tragedy

Minhaj-ul-Quran officials on Friday lodged a petition over the Model Town tragedy in a session court Lahore naming Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and former Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah among others, Dunya News reported.
The petition was filed by Minhajul Quran director Jawad Hamid and pleads to lodge cases against named accused under section 302, 7 ATA and section 95 among other criminal sections.
The petition nominates Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif, Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, senior police officials and Gullu Butt as respondents to the petition.
According to details, the officials reached the court Friday morning and lodged a petition over the Model Town tragedy that left over a dozen dead and several injured in clashes between the law enforcement and Minhajul Quran workers.
