Harald Schumacher, was goalkeeper for West Germany against France in the 1982 World Cup semi-final. It was a controversial match, after a collision between Schumacher and Patrick Battiston left the French player badly injured and unconscious. Schumacher says he holds no ill-will towards Battiston, and favours Germany in Friday's quarter-final clash between the old rivals.
