Lightweight, high SPL, precise and multifunctional: New Horn Subwoofer DH-18 Lambda Labs offers two operating modes for flexibility and maximum performance

After long development Lambda Labs presents the new "Digital Horn" horn subwoofer, short the DH-18, which offers, beside exemplary sonic characteristics and very high sound pressure level, also a progressively and economicaly wide range of applications: By the user selectable sound output on the front or side surface of the 58.5 kg light comprehensive horn design with just 96.2 x 96.2 x 58.2 centimeters, the robust 3600 watts RMS Single 18-inch drive unit could be converted into two different states, and corresponding to the different sound reinforcement requirements also stacked respectively.
In directivity mode, the DH-18 is building up already in a single operation a high directivity without sound energy loss and fulfills with its 104 dB / 1W / 1M Sensitivity even the latest output vs. Truck Space Requirements. Space mode eventually extends the installation options as well as the low corner frequency from the already low 30 Hz (+/-3dB) in the D-mode to the even lower 28 Hz (+/-3dB), providing even more powerful infra bass response, also already in single mode. Due to the abundance of installation variations and the given power efficiency, the DH-18 is suitable for all demanding sound requirements in difficult rooms to large events and is extremely economical.

The structure of the DH-18 horn subwoofer is based on a set of finite horn segments. The contour does not follow the usual continuous expansion, but has abrupt changes in cross section. These strategically placed discrete cross-sectional changes make the equalization above the crossover frequency easier and ensures a uniform maximum level. Due to the consistent optimization and the placement of the points of discontinuity, the Digital horn achieved despite the very low corner frequency at the low end a very impulsive bass reproduction even in the upper transmission range.
