STORY:

A giant dragon kite was flown through Tower Bridge in London on Tuesday (July 01) in a stunt to promote the new animated film, "How To Train Your Dragon 2".

London's iconic Tower Bridge raised its drawbridge to allow the replica of Toothless, a character from the film, to soar through as it was dragged behind a speed boat on the river Thames.

Measuring 54ft from head to toe and with a wingspan of 36ft, the kite was bigger than a London double-decker bus, according to a news release from the event organisers.

The film is the sequel to the 2010 production and portrays the lead character, a Viking called Hiccup, as a young adult with his faithful dragon Toothless. The second chapter of the trilogy stars Jay Baruchel (This Is The End), Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine) and Gerard Butler (Olympus Has Fallen).

"How To Train your Dragon 2" is set to be released in the UK on July 11.
