Protesters outside Kiev's parliament building on Tuesday say law makers are allowing their country to descend into chaos

(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) NIKITA, PROTESTER, SAYING:

"People gathered here today to demand early parliamentary elections. I believe that what is going in our country in unacceptable. We elected a pro-European president, but there was no and is no pro-European parliament in Ukraine. People are dying in Maidan and in the east, and no measures are taken. Deputies in parliament are just sitting there, wasting their time and earning money."

But the army has suffered a series of setbacks.
