Cooper Gilliland - My Faces
Through endless days I hide behind
A row of masks of make-believe
While hiding, trying not to find
The me that no one likes.
Because the glaring truth I see
Is the fact that none could love
The ugly heart that hides in me,
Pleading to escape.
Begging to tear and rend the chains
Be free from the faces I play are mine
To shrug away the binding reins
And become the person locked inside.
