Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has briefed Sonia Gandhi about the political situation in his state. While Gogoi is believed to have told that he has tried to accommodate the rebels. The dissidents led by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma have stepped up the pressure. Sources say rebels are demanding Gogoi's ouster.
