Stepmotherland - Minorities, Blasphemy, and Pakistan

Last year in March, an entire Christian settlement by the name of Joseph Colony was burnt in Lahore by an angry mob, as a reaction to a blasphemy allegation against one Christian man called Sawan Masih.

This is a short film/documentary that presents the real story of Joseph Colony and Pakistan, through the eyes of the actual victims of that horrific incident alongside a priest, a lawyer, and a daring social activist who managed to find hope in the most impossible situation.

We would, very profusely, urge every Pakistani to watch it and share it for only one reason: it has something very important to say about Pakistan and us, things that we all seem to be too scared to talk about.

(Thank you Nadia Fazal Jamil & Saad Rasool. And all our gratitude and support for the wonderfully strong and patriotic people of Joseph Colony.)

Directed by: Imran Ahmad Khan & Saim Sadiq
