The youngest member of the Swedish royal family is christened

Crowds gather outside the Drottningholm Palace Sunday to catch a glimpse of Sweden's youngest royal.

Leonore Lilian Maria, fifth in line to the throne, is about to be christened.

Her title will be Her Royal Highness Duchess of Gotland.

Andrea Wiegand, visiting from Germany, is excited to witness the occasion.

(SOUNDBITE)(German) ANDREA WIEGAND FROM GERMANY, SAYING:

"We're on holiday in Stockholm and it's nice to see it. We wanted to visit Drottningholm palace anyway so to see the king, the crown princess and the little princess is the icing on the cake."

Public support for the ceremonial monarchy has weakened slightly in recent years.

But most Swedes are still in favor of it, like Anders Nordeno.

"It's nice to have a monarchy that is such a good representation of the country, so that is good."
