Defence Minister Khwaja Asif on Saturday expressed dissatisfaction over Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority’s (PEMRA) decision against Geo News, Dunya News reported.
The minister has vowed to appeal seeking extension in Geo News punishment.
PEMRA has taken the decision too late and less punishment has been given to Geo News, the military sources said.
The military sources said that Pakistan Army was targeted despite being in state of war.
The military sources asked that who will give answer to the campaign that has been going on against army and ISI for the last few weeks? What were the motives of those who targeted chief of the country’s prime intelligence agency? Whom did they serve by maligning the image of security institutions?
Army’s struggle and sacrifices in war against terrorism are known to everyone. Army is bound to follow constitutional responsibilities and protect country’s borders.
The sources said army is well aware of its professional responsibilities. Agenda of those criticizing the institution need to be known first.
