Heavy loss of life in Afghan flash floods

At least 50 people have been drowned in severe floods in Afghanistan.

Flash floods followed torrential rains in Baghlan province, where 2000 homes and four entire villages were washed away, fields and their crops disappeared under water, and thousands of animals were killed.

According to one local agency as many as 200 people may have died. More heavy rain for the north of the country is forecast.
