STORY: Celebrities from around the world are lending their voices to help the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) promote World Refugee Day.

Twenty stars from the acting, music and sport world have each released a 30-second video to highlight the event.

Actress Diane Kruger, Colombian rock musician Juanes and author Khaled Hossini are among those who filmed a public service announcement to bring attention to World Refugee Day on June 20.

According to the United Nations 1951 Refugee Convention, a refugee is "someone who fled his or her home and country owing to a well-founded fear of persecution because of his/her race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion." Furthermore, some have also become refugees as a result of natural or human-made disasters.
