Russian Adventurer Completes 10,000-Mile Rowing Trip

A Russian thrill-seeker recently arrived in Australia after spending 5 straight months at sea. In total, Fedor Konyukhov traveled nearly 10,000 thousand miles.
A Russian thrill-seeker recently arrived in Australia after spending 5 straight months at sea.
His long solo journey consisted of a rowing trip on a custom made boat. In total, Fedor Konyukhov traveled nearly 10,000 thousand miles.
He started out in Chile, South America in December and finally ended up in Queensland on May 31st. Local boaters along with family and friends of Konyukhov were waiting for him.

Even Russian president Vladimir Putin acknowledged his impressive feat and sent a letter to congratulate him.
During the 160 day journey across the Pacific, Konyukhov survived on desalinated water and freeze-dried food. On average, he rowed about 50 miles per day.
He admitted the last few miles of his trip were the toughest. Now that his Pacific journey has come to an end, he is contemplating piloting a hot air balloon across the globe.
Konyukhov has previously ventured across the Atlantic ocean, climbed Mt Everest twice, completed the ‘Seven Summits’ challenge and walked to the North and South Poles.
