Madrid, June 2 (EFE).- Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy on Monday told the nation that its king of nearly 40 years, Juan Carlos, has abdicated. It was an impromptu institutional address to prepare Spaniards for a forthcoming message from the Monarch himself later in the day, in which he is expected to explain his reasons for deciding to hand over now the Spanish Crown to his 46-year-old son, Felipe.
