Bolton vs QPR 2-1 | Mark Hughes: QPR must get tough | English Premiere League
  • 10 years ago
Mark Hughes claims a collective sense of injustice will unite his QPR team after they suffered a loss to Bolton following a controversial incident that saw a goal ruled out for the Hoops when the ball had clearly crossed the line.

Clint Hill's header clearly crossed the line but was not given as Wanderers gained a 2-1 win at the Reebok Stadium which could prove vital in the battle to avoid the drop.
Hoops boss Hughes said: 'It's my job now to lift the lads.
'We're under no illusions that we've got a difficult run-in but the circumstances [of the defeat] will bring us even closer together.'

Bolton defender Sam Ricketts said: 'I just thought it was a great save at first.
'It would have made a difference them getting the first goal but they got [a goal] in the second half that was offside so in a round-about way it sort of evens it out.'
The Premier League hopes goal-line technology will be introduced next season and Ricketts added: 'I think it should be.
'Football's come down to such fine margins now. It would be an instant decision, you're not asking for replays.'

Bolton boss Owen Coyle admitted the result was a massive boost to his side's survival hopes and said: 'If we'd lost, QPR would have been five points ahead of us.
'As it is we leapfrog them and they play the top six clubs in the last ten games.'
