RWANDA - Rwanda's Iwawa Island: Rehabilitation centre or training camp?

Iwawa is a small island within Lake Kivu in western Rwanda, right next to the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Officially it's a rehabilitation centre for young drug addicts, who check themselves in to get clean and learn skills such as carpentry. But some say it’s a prison, and even a training camp for fighters sent to quash rebellions in Congo. Our correspondents Hannah McNeish and Thaïs Brouck managed to get inside and see for themselves.
Programme prepared by Narimène Laouadi and Elise Duffau.
