Hacker turned FBI mole 'Sabu' sentenced to time served

Hector Xavier Monsegur, known as "Sabu" in the hacking community, a onetime member of the cyber hacking group Anonymous, is sentenced to time served by a New York federal judge.

Monsegur shocked the hacking community when he agreed to become an FBI cooperator, helping to disrupt at least 300 cyber attacks.

The attacks included targets on the U.S. Armed Forces, and the U.S. Congress.

The hacker-turned-mole was praised in a ceremonial courtroom by a New York judge, who called his work extraordinary.

His attorney, Peggy Cross-Goldenberg, is pleased with the results.
