British singer Sam Smith continues to top the charts.

Fresh off his Critics' Choice Award at the BRITs and his top spot on BBC's "Sound of 2014" list - Smith is celebrating his third Number One with "Stay With Me".

Ahead of the release of his debut album "In The Lonely Hour", Smith described the wide range of feelings he's experienced over the last year.

"I'm an emotional person, that's why I do what I do, and it's been mental. I've had moments where I've never been happy, or never felt as happy as that in my life, but there's moments when I've never felt so alone in what's happening, because it's only me, it's only happening to me right now. So, it's hard sometimes, but I'm having the most amazing ride I could ever ask for."

Smith insisted he'd "take a risk" with this album and didn't want it to fall into any specific genre.
