Armed separatists gather outside home of Ukraine's richest man

Outside the gates to the home of Ukraine's richest man, pro-Russian militia men in Donetsk are assembling on election day.

With supporters at their backs, the armed separatists lined up at the front door of Rinat Akhmetov.

Akhmetov denounced the rebels last week, accusing them of "genocide."

The crowd says they will not participate in voting, encouraged by Akhmetov.

"We don't want to elect the "junta". We came over here to take a look how he lives here on the people's account. That's it."

Akhmetov is a coal and steel billionaire whose factories and mines employ about 300,000 people.

Journalists at the scene say the crowd later calmed down and appeared to be negotiating with representatives from Akhmetov's side.
