A violent clash between Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamaat Islami (JI) workers left three persons injured on Saturday, Dunya News reported.
The clash turned violent and workers beat the opponents using sticks and fists. The turmoil was curbed by police’s aerial firing.
Earlier today, MQM workers held a rally at Nazimabad Five Star Chowrangi. Around the same time, Jamaat workers – who were going to the airport to welcome JI Chief Sirajul Haq – also reached the site.
Both sides shouted loud slogans as they confronted each other. The verbal fight soon turned to heated exchange of words which then led to the brawl.
Angry workers resorted to using sticks when punching and kicking didn’t feel enough.
The force of the beating left at least three workers injured. Police and the security guards present at the site dispersed the crowed through aerial firing.
