Gosling premieres directorial film, Abrams reveals Star Wars contest

Ryan Gosling premiered his directioral debut film at the Cannes Film Festival. His movie, "Lost River," received less-than-stellar reviews from critics, but that didn't deter the star from walking the fest's red carpet and greeting fans. His film is competing in the "Un Certain Regard" category for emerging directors.

Meanwhile, on the sidelines of Cannes, Sharon Stone joined a host of other celebrities for the annual De Grisogono jewelry party. Security was tight following last year's theft, when some two million euros worth of jewels disappeared during the star-studded party. Also hitting up the celebration was Antonio Banderas and Paris Hilton.
