Sickness forces Paul McCartney to cancel

Paul McCartney's "Out There" tour is going no where in Japan after the singer cancels.

McCartney fell ill after arriving in Japan and organizers say doctors have ordered him to take "complete rest."

After word got out, fans gathered at a hotel where he is believed to be staying in the hopes of seeing the former Beatle.

SOUNDBITE: Katsunori Katayama, fan, saying (Japanese):

"It was announced right as I was trying to go in so I heard around me a lot of people voicing shock and surprise. It didn't really feel real."

Others were worried about McCartney's health.

SOUNDBITE: Mika Yokoyama, fan, saying (Japanese):

"I was really looking forward to it. I had been working just so that I could go, so it was very disappointing that this happened. But more than anything I'm worried about Paul's health."

McCartney said in a statement he "was really looking forward to playing in Japan again after such an amazing time in November," adding he it is "hug
