By now you've probably come across the story concerning a cat name Tara. She’s now being referred to as ‘the hero cat’ after saving the life of her owners’ four-year-old-son, who had been playing outside when a neighbor’s dog attacked him.
Now the brave cat is being honored. Next week, Tara will throw out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game. The Class A Bakersfield Blaze will feature the feline and her human family, who will reportedly help Tara throw that pitch.
Fans are encouraged to bring in an unused pet toy or upopened food product which would then be donated to local animal shelters.
Following the incident, the dog’s owner handed him over to the Bakersfield Animal Care Center, where he will be euthanized. The little boy named Jeremy Triantafilo required a few stitches resulting from the attack, but he's otherwise doing fine.
