Light Beam Rider is a Mississippi band, but they vary far from the typical southern sound. They definitely have influences such as the guitar harmonies of the Allman brothers band but there are also heavy echoes of British math rock, such as Foals, in their music. LBR's sound varies from dancey, to ambient jams, to heavy rock. Their songs are full of interesting transitions and lyrics about finding one's place in the world, anxiety, finding inner peace, partying, and dealing with the passing of friends.
