Bad Movie Trailers: Godmonster Of Indian Flats

It’s a zero-budget horror movie that includes all of your big set pieces in the trailer in an attempt to make the movie seem more expensive than it actually is. That technique is certainly employed in the trailer for Godmonster of Indian Flats, but unfortunately all of the big scenes involve one of the most laughable monster suits in cinema history: a pile of fake fur and rubbery latex that would be laughed out of any Halloween party. The actual film is impossible to sit through since so much of it is a painfully amateurish setup (sample dialogue includes children saying “I don’t believe in the monster -- only stupid adults believe in it”), so the trailer is a perfect collection of laughable highlights from this unwatchable work of early ’70s garbage. It’s a relic from that wonderful pre-irony era when terrible movies were played completely sincerely -- and it’s all the funnier for it.
