A southwestern England woman endured a five-year reign of terror at the hands of a maniacal stalker who vandalised her car and her home and targeted her parents. And yet STILL police failed to prevent her from being stabbed eight times.
Helen Pearson, 34, said it all began when her lonely neighbor Joe Willis, 49, asked her to go out with him. An offer she politely refused to take him up on.
Pearson's inbox soon began to fill up with hate-mail and her bike, car and home were all vandalized.
Things truly took a turn for the gruesome, however, when she opened her door one day, only to discover a dead cat lying in a pool of its own blood.
Despite begging for help at least 120 times, local police failed to take the threats against her seriously, according to Pearson.
That is, until her tormentor stabbed her eight times with a pair of foot-long scissors as she was making her way to the gym last October and dragged her into a cemetery.
She luckily survived the vicious attack thanks to a courageous passerby who pulled Willis off of her.
The crazed stalker now faces a lengthy jail sentence for attempted murder.
