China jails man for leaking military secrets

This man -- just called Li -- has been sentenced to ten years in prison for leaking 23 secret military documents.

Thirteen of them were highly classified.

Reports said Li was contacted on the Chinese instant messaging service QQ by a stranger posing as a woman.

They became friends and over one month Li was given money to subscribe to secret military publications through the national library.

(SOUNDBITE)(Mandarin) CHINESE MAN JAILED FOR LEAKING MILITARY DOCUMENTS, SURNAMED LI, SAYING:

"When I logged on there, he could log on too and see"

A member of the National Security Bureau said Li also passed along photographs and information about military bases.
