Selfie video message from Brenda Lea Salas' cell phone reveals what led to her death

The remains of a New Mexico woman who had been missing for two years were found on the West Mesa near Albuquerque on Easter Sunday along with her cell phone containing self-recorded footage explaining the events leading up to her death.
Brenda Lea Salas' body was found by Mike Zeyen and his family when they went looking for fossils on Easter day this year. His wife found some bones, a shoe, some clothes, which they determined to be the remains of a human body. Mike found a cell phone near the body and notified police who were able to identify the remains as belonging to Salas.
The cell phone contained a video that Salas recorded after she had already been lost for two days.
Salas was last seen June 14, 2012 when she drove away from an argument with her boyfriend, something she also mentioned in the video message. She drove her Buick onto the West Mesa but when the vehicle got stuck on a remote dirt road, she decided to walk to find help.
Police found her vehicle two weeks after she went missing but they couldn't locate her body despite extensive search efforts in the area. Two years later, her body was eventually found five miles from where they found Salas' car.
