Ukraine's army moves to reclaim eastern town
  • 10 years ago
Ukraine's army has relaunched a major push to dislodge anti-government groups from their positions in the town of Slovyansk.

The interior ministry said up to five armed men were killed at a checkpoint 10 kilometres north of the town.

The casualties occurred as Ukraine's military tried to regain control of several towns along the border with Russia.

Al Jazeera's Barnaby Phillips reports from eastern Ukraine.
