Fast & Furious 7: Paul Walker's death delays production

Production on "Fast & Furious 7" has been delayed following the tragic death of Paul Walker last week.
Filming had been scheduled to pick back up this week in Atlanta but was canceled Monday and Tuesday. A Universal Pictures spokesman declined to say when shooting will start back up.
The best-case scenario for Universal is that filmmakers find out a way through editing and writing to give Walker's character Brian O'Conner a graceful exit while at the same time keeping him integral to the overall plot. It they can make the changes quick enough for the July 11 release date, the last-role angle could help the movie gross more than any of the other six movies in the series. Universal is expected to go ahead with the movie, but it has not said how it will modify the movie or handle Walker's unfinished performance.
The series has definitely brought in some cash for the Universal. "Fast & Furious 6," released in May, earned more than $788 million globally making it the highest grossing movie in the series.
Other scenarios include O'Conner only having a small part in the finished movie due to the lack of footage. To make the film work, lots of rewriting, delaying and more shooting will have to happen. Another option for Universal is to start over from scratch and toss out everything they've done so far. But being that Walker was such an important part of the franchise, it's unlikely that this will happen.
Maybe Universal should think about shortening the next movie so Walker has a bigger part. Otherwise they might have to actually get creative. Will you watch Fast 7?
