STORY: Christians celebrated Palm Sunday (April 13) in Jerusalem, marking the beginning of festivities of the holy week ahead of Easter.

Worshippers gathered in Jerusalem's Old City, inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Clergymen and worshippers walked around the holy site, revered as Jesus' burial place, with the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal leading the procession.

Later in the day, worshippers are expected to attend an annual procession from Jerusalem's Mount of Olives into the Old City, carrying palm branches and chanting hymns.
