A 23-year-old police constable in Japan's Fukuoka Prefecture has been fired for molesting a vulnerable female witness in her 20s.

The female witness reportedly attended a job training course that was actually a fraudulent scam run by an organized crime boss.

Police raided the woman's house in late November. The woman later went to the police station to confirm the evidence. That's when the young police constable gave her his mobile phone number. They later contacted each other, and the officer is accused of molesting the witness in his apartment early on November 30.

The affair was not discovered until the witness informed on her abuser to other police officers who were looking into whether the young constable had divulged classified information to the witness. The constable was fired on Thursday.
