An emotional Pistorius takes the stand

An emotional Oscar Pistorius testifies in Day 17 of his murder trial.
The South African track star said the fatal shooting of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp last year continues to haunt him.

"I have terrible nightmares about things that happened that night where I wake up and I smell, I can smell, I can smell the blood and I wake up to being terrified."
Pistorius calls the shooting a mistake, saying he thought she was an intruder.
At one point, Pistorius apologized directly to the Steenkamp family.
