Moscow was hit by a massive snowstorm after more than 10 centimetres of snow fell on the Russian capital in less than 24 hours. The Kremlin was barely visible from a distance under the heavy snow as it blanketed streets in the early hours of Tuesday (April 1).
More than 10,000 snowploughs were deployed on Moscow roads to battle the elements. Meteorologists say the snowstorm will continue throughout the day on Tuesday.
