What is color? A special effect in your brain! (Flame Challenge 2014)

"http://www.crispylogs.com" What is color? This video is my answer to the question that was chosen by 11-year-old children from all over the world for the 2014 edition of the Flame Challenge, organized by the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University. It explains that color is a special effect added to what we see by our brains with the help of three teams of special detectors in our eyes, called cones, that respond to photons (packets of light) that have different frequencies. Objects and light itself are not by themselves colored : color is a mental perception. We see color because of the way our eyes and brains are constructed.
