A suicide bomber has killed 15 people in Afghanistan’s northern province of Farya. At least 28 others were wounded in the attack on a busy marketplace.

There has been no claim of responsibility.

This attack comes ahead of presidential elections on April 5. The ballot will decide the successor of Hamid Karzai as head of state.

Nine candidates are still in the running to succeed Mr. Karzai.
