ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

STORY: A limping Argentine President, Cristina Kirchner, met with Pope Francis for a private lunch at the Vatican on Monday (March 17).

Kirchner was welcomed by the Argentine Pope at his residence at Santa Marta within the Vatican walls.

The Argentine president, limping heavily on one foot, said she had twisted her ankle in her hotel room before the scheduled meeting with the pope.

She visited a Rome hospital where her ankle was bandaged before arriving at the Vatican.

It is the second time Kirchner has met with Pope Francis, who has recently marked his first year anniversary as pontiff.
