An explosion caused by firecrackers damaged the entrance and guard post of a police station in Malaysia on Saturday (February 8).
According to the Malaysian Digest, four policemen were on duty during the incident, which took place at 4:50 a.m. local time. An initial investigation suggested that several suspects on motorcycles threw 'mercun bola', ball-shaped firecrackers that had been tied together at the entrance of the police station, before fleeing the scene.
No one was injured in the incident. The entrance's wall and guard post were damaged by the explosion. Authorities estimated the losses to be between RM 10,000 and RM 15,000.
Police were still trying to determine the motive behind the attack and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
