Self-defense shooting: Milwaukee teens killed after attacking maintenance worker with bat

A maintenance man and an unnamed 20-year-old man were released from jail in Milwaukee on Friday. They had both been held by police since a shooting on Wednesday afternoon, when the 20-year-old and his two friends, Anmarie Miller, 17, and James Bell Jr., 19, allegedly attacked the maintenance man with a baseball bat inside a stairwell at the building where he worked.

The maintenance man shot the two teens to death with his concealed handgun. Police say they have a cell phone video, shot by one of the trio, and are still investigating to determine whether the shooting was justified.

Family members of Miller and Bell, who were a couple with two small children, urged police to release the cell phone video as they seek to understand what led to the shooting. If the shooting is not ruled to be justified, the still unnamed maintenance man could face two homicide charges.
